Anyone use a weatherproof cover for their MINI's charging port? I got an error message saying charging was interrupted, and I found water around the port. It was raining, so I suspect water might have caused the issue.

I found some magnetic covers on Amazon, but I'm worried about them scratching the paint. Also, the charging flap seems really exposed and easy to damage. Has anyone else had this problem?

It only works when closed. The DIY cover I made sits just above the flap, allowing rain to run off. I haven’t tested it in windy conditions yet, but it’s been fine for everyday use so far. After use, I wipe off any moisture from the area where the cover sits and then clean the cover itself. It’s not the most stylish solution, but it gets the job done.

We've been using ours for more than a year now, charging it through every kind of weather without a hitch. Heck, we've even washed the car while it's been charging, and it's never skipped a beat, tripped out, or given us any trouble.
