My Mini SE (20k miles) needs its 3-year service in April, and I just realized I've never even tried fast charging! So, I went to a 150kW charger, but it only hit 30kW and then dropped to 27kW. I started at 37% and only got to 40% before I gave up – not worth the cash for such a tiny bump. Is that normal for the Mini SE, or should I mention it at the service appointment? It was kinda cold out (15-18°C), and I only drove like 9 miles to the charger. Anyone else with a Mini SE have this happen? Any advice?

Sounds like you’re asking about charging speed. As the battery fills up, it slows down, like it’s getting tired. Above 60%, you’ll notice it dragging its feet, and above 80%, it’s basically napping. Most EVs do this, but Kia, Hyundai, and the Mini are the overachievers with their flat charge curves, so they zip up to 100% like it’s no big deal
