This past weekend, I decided to put my Mini SE to the test and take it on a road trip from San Diego to Phoenix and back. It was an adventure, and while I almost got stranded a couple of times, EV road trip drama, right? I managed to make it work. Each leg of the trip took about 9.5 hours, which included some charging stops.

The SE was absolutely fantastic on the road. It’s surprisingly comfortable for long drives, and I never felt fatigued, even after hours behind the wheel. I’m honestly impressed with how well it handled a trip of this length.

Have any of you taken your Mini SE on longer road trips? Would love to hear your stories or tips for EV road tripping. Charging networks along the route definitely kept things interesting, but it was all part of the fun!

I’ve taken my Mini SE on a few longer trips too. The charging stops can be tricky, but it’s manageable with planning.

The SE is a fantastic little car. Don't worry about the range too much. It just means you'll have more time driving it!
Absolutely agree. The SE is a fantastic little car indeed, and don’t let range concerns hold you back! In fact, the limited range just means more time to enjoy the drive. We avoid highways and motorways, sticking to quieter roads instead. It’s a more enjoyable experience and actually helps improve range too
