I'm considering an extended warranty for my used Mini Cooper SE, but it’s been tough to find something that really focuses on EV components. Most of the coverage options seem tailored to gas engines and miss a lot of what’s relevant to EVs. I have a provisional offer for a general 36-month warranty, but the coverage feels like it's mostly geared toward ICE vehicles.

Has anyone here gone for an EV-specific warranty on their used SE, or found a provider that’s worth recommending? I’d love to hear what others have done or any tips you might have!

Hmmmm EV-specific warranties can be rare, but some providers focus on battery and EV components. You can check for options tailored to electric drive systems for better coverage.

IMO, EVs are pretty simple, so not much breaks. I used to work in MINI and yeah, sometimes those warranties are worth it, even if everyone thinks they're a rip-off. But for an EV? You probably don't need one unless you're keeping it forever. You shouldn't have to pay much for repairs, and the battery's got a long warranty anyway, at least 6 years.
