I've had my I-PACE for a year and a half and still love it! But I'm charging it more frequently, and the slow charger that came with it isn't cutting it. The manual states that it can charge at 7kW, but I am not sure if that is single-phase or three-phase. Some people claim the Mini Cooper SE can charge at 11kW on three-phase. Can my I-PACE also do that? What's the difference between a 7 or 11 kW home charger and a public fast charger? Aren't they essentially the same thing as the car?

If I'm stuck with 7kW, I'll most likely get a Tesla charger. But if I can go faster, I have more options.

Yes, the Mini Cooper SE can charge at 11kW on three-phase, but it needs a specific setup, and as far as I know, a three-phase setup for faster charging requires expensive upgrades.

If you're looking for faster charging, a three-phase home charger would be a significant upgrade. However, you'll need to ensure your home's electrical infrastructure can support it.

I agree with @Mr.Cooper
