I am considering switching to EVs but I am quite hesitant, but my dealer suggested I give them another look, especially with current deals offering free chargers, 4 years of free servicing, a year of free insurance, and low APR. We drive about 22k miles a year, and the Mini calculator shows switching to a Cooper SE could save us at least $2,500 in fuel annually. Over 4 years, that’s a $10k saving, not even counting servicing.

But still, I have concerns about depreciation, reliability, battery warranty, range, and fire risks. For Mini EV owners, would you buy another EV? Is it worth it for the mileage we do?

I was in the same boat before switching to an EV. After looking into the savings on fuel and incentives like free chargers and servicing, I decided to take the plunge. With my Mini EV, I've noticed significant savings on fuel, just like the calculator predicted. The reliability has been great, and the battery warranty gives peace of mind. As for range, I’ve found it works fine for most daily trips, though longer trips require planning. Depreciation is a concern, but the savings from fuel and servicing really help offset it. I’d definitely buy another EV, especially with the savings you’re looking at.

Depending on the model, the New Mini Electric will travel up to 190 or 250 miles on a single charge. That's significantly better than the previous one and should be sufficient for your daily 80-mile commute.

Believe it or not, electric vehicles are safer than gasoline-powered vehicles. EV batteries have a long lifespan and are fairly reliable.

While EVs may lose value faster, they are less expensive to purchase as a result of government subsidies and lower interest rates. Furthermore, dealers frequently offer good deals on trade-ins. I'll never again drive an ICE vehicle. The Mini Electric is an excellent car, but the new model may be too costly for what it offers.

The savings and peace of mind with the warranty definitely make EVs more appealing.

Thanks, the range and safety aspects sound great, but the cost of the new model is something to consider.
