I accidentally enabled the lane departure warning on my 2022 Mini SE, but I'm not sure how to turn it off. When approaching lane lines with the LDW indicator light illuminated, no audible warnings or steering wheel vibrations occur. I'm curious how this feature normally works.

Yes, if you switch lanes without using your turn signal, you may experience some vibration, but no lights or beeps should sound.
The lane departure warning icon remains on, but I barely feel any vibration. Out of curiosity, I test-drove another Mini, and the vibration was also subtle. It appears that this is how LDW works in Minis. Still a great car overall!

had the same issue with my 2022 Mini SE. To turn it off, you can go into the Driver Assistance Settings on your infotainment system. Now, you gotta be focused and dig into the system. There should be an option for lane departure warning under Safety Features. You can either disable it or adjust the settings there.

Mine didn’t have any audible or vibration alerts either, so it might just be visual. Once you turn it off, no more lane warnings! 🤷‍♂️

hmmmm I haven’t had any audible alerts or vibrations with my Mini’s LDW system either, only the visual warnings. And I rarely see them. From what I’ve read, some Minis only have visual indicators without the full warning package, audible and vibration. You can turn it off through the Vehicle Settings > Safety Features in the infotainment system if it’s bugging you. But it’s weird that it doesn’t have more alerts. Although you might want to practice and get used the the security system they added.

It sounds like the lane departure warning is in visual-only mode right now. There's two warnings, audio, and visual. You can usually customize it to add audible warnings or steering vibrations if your model supports that. What model do you have? Eitherway. Head to the Safety Features in the menu to adjust or disable the setting altogether. I had the same problem and found the warnings more annoying than helpful, so I just turned it off! But I turn it on when other people drive. 🤷‍♂️

I think what you’re experiencing might be a result of the base LDW system on the Mini SE, which often only shows visual cues without the audible alerts or steering vibrations. If you’d prefer to disable it, just head over to the Driver Assistance menu on your infotainment screen. Under the Safety Features, you can toggle off the lane departure warning or tweak it to suit your preferences. But if you want full alerts, it’s possible your model doesn't support that, unfortunately!
