So my wife just got her new MINI SE and shes loving it. The only hiccup? The radio keeps ghosting her mid drive. It’s seriously becoming a thing, she’s jamming out and then, bam, silence. We’re both scratching our heads here. I’m leaning towards it being an antenna issue, but who knows? Anyone else had this gremlin in their car? She keeps bugging me about it but I’ve got no idea what’s going on.

A radio ghost! just kidding. 😅 I had the same issue, and after a little digging, it turned out to be a weak antenna connection. check if the antenna is securely fastened, especially if the car was recently washed or serviced. If the antenna seems fine, then it could also be a software glitch. doing a quick reboot of the infotainment system, sometimes resetting it clears up weird bugs like that. 🤷‍♂️You know "turning it on and off again".

If all else fails, the dealership should be able to run diagnostics to figure it out.

I totally get where your wife’s coming from. Nothing more annoying than jamming to your favorite tunes and suddenly—crickets. 😅

I’ve heard of a few other MINI SE owners with similar radio gremlins. Sometimes it’s as simple as a loose connection to the antenna, or it could be a glitch in the system software. A friend of mine had theirs updated at the dealership, and the problem disappeared. I’d give them a call and see if there’s a patch or update available for your wife’s MINI. Best of luck 😉

Yikes! Have you tried any troubleshooting? 😵 If the antenna looks fine, I’d suggest checking the signal settings or resetting the radio. Sometimes when the system tries to hop between weak and strong stations, it just cuts out instead of switching smoothly. You could also try disabling the auto-scan feature.

I had a similar issue, and toggling that setting fixed it. If that doesn’t work, I’d head to the dealership for a system update, they’ll probably sort it out quickly. Or at least it will let them know that there are problems like this. 🤷‍♂️

I think I know exactly what’s going on! ✌ This happened to my MINI SE a few weeks ago. Turns out the antenna connection was slightly loose, but it’s also worth checking if the car has the latest software update. MINIs can get glitchy with tech stuff sometimes. You could try a soft reset on the radio by holding the volume knob down for about 30 seconds, this resets the system without messing up any settings.

If your wife’s still getting ghosted after that, 😅 maybe ask the dealer if there's an update available for the infotainment system.
