While this setting might feel warmer than expected, it activates more than just the heater and fan. It also turns on the heated seats, rear window, and mirrors for a more comprehensive warming experience.

I’ve used the app for preconditioning, and from what I understand, it doesn’t let you set a specific default temperature manually. The app tends to aim for a “comfortable” temp, which seems to be around 72°F (or 22°C). Unfortunately, there isn’t a way to change that default temperature directly from the app. I know it’s not ideal, but you can adjust it manually once you’re in the car if it doesn’t feel quite right. Kinda hope MINI adds more customization options!

I’ve seen this pop up a lot! From what I’ve gathered, the app’s preconditioning feature automatically sets the temperature based on average comfort levels, which is somewhere around 70-72°F. Currently, there’s no user option to set a permanent default temperature, which is a bummer if you have a specific preference. I’ve found that the app works well for making the car comfortable, but it’d be great if MINI added a customization feature. Maybe it’s something they’ll consider for future app updates!

I’ve wondered the same thing! The MINI app typically preconditions to a default temperature around 70-72°F. Unfortunately, MINI hasn’t provided a user-accessible option to adjust that baseline temperature setting in the app itself. If you’re looking to have it warmer or cooler, you’ll need to adjust it manually after getting into the car, as the app doesn’t allow permanent changes to the default climate setting. One trick I use: set a reminder in the app to start climatization a little earlier on hot or cold days so it has extra time to reach a comfortable temp!

I know what you mean! I find it a little hit-or-miss myself. The app automatically goes for a comfy temp (usually around 72°F, I think), but there isn’t a way to set your own default yet. I’ve tried playing around in the app, but it seems MINI keeps it pretty basic right now. One workaround I do on really cold or hot days is to start the climate control a few minutes earlier to make sure it’s the right temp when I get in. Not perfect, but it helps! Here’s hoping MINI adds more control options soon!
