Just got our home charger installed and it’s working awesome! I tried charging the Mini on low, but it was only at 3.4 kWh. Then I switched to high and got it up to 7.4 kWh, which is great! Is slow charging better, or is high charging fine? Will it mess with the battery health down the line? Also, what’s the deal with that reduced rate?

Based on my knowledge, you only need to use a slower charging rate for Level 1 AC charging. I'm no expert, I'd be interested to hear other opinions on this.

My Ohme Pro on Intelligent Octopus is charging slowly lately. I believe this is due to the grid balancing. The advantage is that you may be able to pay the lower rate for a longer period.

Charging at 7.4 kW is perfectly safe and won’t degrade your battery noticeably faster than low-speed charging. Mini wouldn’t design a home charger at that speed if it wasn’t meant to be used regularly. The real thing to watch out for is frequent DC fast charging, but for home charging, you’re good. As for the reduced rate, some utilities charge less at night might be worth setting a schedule.
