Anyone else having this weird issue? My daughter can't get the car out of park, but I can shift it just fine. Tried everything and Mini was clueless! Hoping Mini service can shed some light on Monday... any ideas in the meantime?

I ran into a similar issue before and someone here told me that it's all about the weight being linked to the profile, but that wasn't the case for me. Turned out I had a faulty gear selector which was then replaced under warranty.

Were you with your daughter when she was driving? If so, maybe you had the key fob with you. The fob needs to be with her upon entering the car.

I had the chance to ask my SA about this since I thought I encountered an issue. Turns out it's Mini's safety feature. You need to press the brake pedal before starting the car. This prevents children from accidentally starting the vehicle and driving away.
