I'm trying to enable Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) on my 2023 Mini Cooper SE, which does not currently have this capability. I'm aware that the car has the necessary hardware, including the camera and SAS module.

I've read that someone was able to enable ACC on an F54 model by adding an SAS module and some code. I'm wondering if a similar approach would work for the SE.

While physical steering wheel buttons will be required for ACC, my primary interest is in the software side of the equation. Can anyone help me with this one?

Tried a bunch of cars with ACC, and honestly? Not worth it. It sounds cool, but it’s a mess. One second you’re cruising at 70mph, and the next, it slams the brakes for no reason - down to 40mph! Scary stuff. And the following distances? Either you’re tailgating or leaving way too much room. Across all the cars I’ve driven, this tech just isn’t there yet. Save yourself the headache.

I wouldn't recommend relying on adaptive cruise control just yet. While it sounds like a great feature, it can be unreliable, especially in certain driving conditions. I've experienced sudden, hard braking from 70mph down to 40mph, and inconsistent following distances. This isn't unique to my car; I've seen similar issues with other models. It's best to be cautious and ready to take control at any time.
