Has anyone scored a factory-like install? I'm looking for a dashcam that feels like it belongs in the car, not stuck on with wires dangling everywhere. Seen some Bimmers with super clean setups, and wondering if anyone's found a similar option for our rides? Feels like every drive is an invitation for an insurance claim these days, wish car companies would just make them standard!

There are lots of dashcams in the market that you can install cleanly. It still depends on how you install it no matter what type of dashcam it is.

Totally get what you mean, dangling wires drive me crazy too! 😖

I recently installed a Thinkware F800 Pro in my Mini, and I went the extra mile to tuck the wires neatly into the headliner and A-pillar. It wasn’t too hard with a bit of patience, and now it looks almost factory-installed. I highly recommend using a hardwiring kit so you can hide everything and have it automatically turn on with the car.

Check out some YouTube tutorials, there’s a few good ones for Minis specifically! Keep in mind, you gotta do this yourself. Patience, and being careful is a huge requirement. ✌

I was in the same boat! I ended up going with the BlackVue DR900X, and it’s been awesome. 💪

Got it professionally installed so there’s zero wire mess, and it looks like it came with the car. A lot of shops will do a clean install and hide everything, but it’s worth asking them about hardwiring it into your fuse box for that seamless look. It costs a bit more, but if you’re picky about aesthetics like me, it’s 100% worth it! You just gotta make sure the features of the dashcam are the ones you really want.

Honestly, I wish car companies would just make dashcams standard too! Like integrated to their infotainment systems already, like Toyota has. 😔

Seems like they’re a must these days, especially in busy areas. I haven’t done an aftermarket install yet, but I’ve heard great things about Garmin Dash Cam Mini 2—compact enough to feel factory-like, and you can hardwire it for a clean setup. I’m thinking of getting mine professionally installed to avoid the wire clutter and make sure it blends in with the Mini’s interior. ✌

😮I’ve been looking into this too! I haven’t pulled the trigger on a dashcam yet, but I’ve seen a few people mention VIOFO models that look super sleek once installed, especially if you can get a professional to tuck the wires.

Curious to know what others have found in terms of models that blend in with the Mini’s look. Would love to get one that doesn’t scream ‘aftermarket’ every time I glance at it! I'm kinda picky with those extra large dashcams that just look bad and looks really tacky. 😅
