I have just got my car's infotainment system to work with Apple CarPlay, which is supposed to be the intelligent and safe way to use iPhone in the car. But I noticed that the car model shown on the screen changed from F57 (the one I have) to another one after the upgrade. I wonder if there is any option to change it back with some coding. Do you have any idea how to do that?

Which MINI Cooper model do you have? Try doing a hard reset; it might solve the problem. If not, calling your dealer is the best option.

I don't think there's a way to change it through coding. CarPlay info typically relies on data provided by the car itself, and modifying it could cause unexpected issues. In short, it seems this setting isn't user-configurable.

hmmm that’s an interesting quirk. Sometimes updates can mess with the car’s model display in CarPlay. If you’re familiar with BMW/MINI coding tools, like BimmerCode, you might be able to tweak it back to show the F57. Otherwise, your dealership might be able to help, but coding is usually the DIY route if you’re comfortable with it. 😔

Good job on getting CarPlay set up! That’s strange that the model display changed. I haven’t seen that happen, but maybe a quick coding session with something like BimmerCode or Carly could fix it? I’ve used BimmerCode to adjust a few settings, and it’s pretty user-friendly. If you’re not sure, the dealership might be able to guide you or reset the display.

That’s a common quirk with some updates, and it can be frustrating when the display doesn’t match your actual model! You can try using BimmerCode or Carly if you’re familiar with coding apps, these tools can often access the settings you need to change the model display. You just connect your phone via an OBD-II adapter and go into the car’s model coding options. If you’re not up for coding, sometimes a reset at the dealership can bring back the right model display, too. 😓

that’s a bit annoying! I know how nice it is when every detail matches up, especially with the right model display. BimmerCode and Carly are popular coding apps that might help you change it back to the F57 model on the screen. Just connect with an OBD-II adapter, and you can access all sorts of display settings, pretty handy for tweaks like this! If you’re not comfortable coding, maybe check with your dealership to see if they can update it for you. 😅
