Mini App overestimating charging sessions. I'm seeing a big difference between the Mini App and my energy supplier's app in terms of kWh used. It looks like the Mini App is inflating the numbers, which means I'm probably being overcharged. Has anyone found a solution or workaround for this?

I recently charged my car from a low battery level to 80%. The car's app indicated a specific amount of electricity used, while a separate charging app showed a slightly different but more accurate figure.

I've had the same problem with the Mini App! I think the app tends to overestimate because it factors in things like preconditioning, which your energy supplier may not take into account. It seems like this extra energy consumption inflates the app’s readings. One way to check this is by manually logging your kWh usage for a few sessions and then comparing it with what your provider is showing. Also, it might help to contact Mini support. Sometimes these issues can be addressed with an app update or a fix they haven’t publicly acknowledged yet.

his sounds all too familiar. happened to me a few times already. I’ve noticed the Mini App tends to overshoot how much energy you're using too. I think it’s because it tracks more than just charging. like heating/cooling the battery before driving also count. I know it’s a bit annoying, but I started keeping track myself for a while to double-check. Since I was confused, and wanted a bit of record if I was wrong, or the app was wrong. maybe send a message to Mini's support team? It’s worth asking if they’ve got a fix in the works or if it’s something they’re aware of.

That’s frustrating, annoying, because it happened to me at time where i actually needed it! It could be the Mini App accounting for additional power usage during charging sessions that your energy supplier’s app isn’t tracking, like battery preconditioning. One solution could be monitoring your charging manually and comparing it against both apps to get a clearer picture. It might also help to reach out to Mini directly. If enough people are facing the same issue, they might release an app update to address the overestimation.

interesting. I’ve seen a few people mention similar issues with the Mini App overestimating energy use. Have you tried comparing the data over a longer period to see if it averages out, or is the discrepancy consistent? I’d definitely suggest reaching out to Mini’s support or asking in the Mini community forums to see if others have found a workaround. It’s probably worth reporting this so they can look into it. Hopefully, enough of us raising the issue can lead to a fix!
