Hey fellow Mini Cooper SE owner! How's your range holding up with that small bat? I'm super cautious with my bat, limiting the use of fast chargers and keeping it between 20% and 80% charge. But I still get a bit paranoid sometimes.

I agree that it has a smaller battery capacity than its competitors, but it has a satisfactory range considering the small battery capacity that it has. You don't have to worry that much because these are made and assembled using high quality materials. Just maximize your usage for your Mini Cooper and trust the brand itself.

MINI is pretty upfront about the battery's buffer. My SE has a total capacity of 32.6kWh, but I can only actually use 28.9kWh. The rest is a buffer to protect the battery from being completely drained or overcharged.
It's interesting – as my battery ages, I seem to be able to access a bit more of that buffer. This helps to mask the effects of battery degradation for a while, but eventually, the buffer will be used up.
