Shocking Electric Car insurance hike!

While I'm not surprised that insurance will increase, I just got slammed with a 70% increase on my Mini Electric insurance renewal. No changes to my driving habits or multi-car discount. Is this the new normal for electric cars, or am I getting ripped off? Still shopping around before the renewal date, but curious if anyone else has experienced this jump with electric vehicles.

I'm happy with LV on my multi-car policy. They've been great, and the discount saved me a significant amount.
