While I'm not surprised that insurance will increase, I just got slammed with a 70% increase on my Mini Electric insurance renewal. No changes to my driving habits or multi-car discount. Is this the new normal for electric cars, or am I getting ripped off? Still shopping around before the renewal date, but curious if anyone else has experienced this jump with electric vehicles.

I'm happy with LV on my multi-car policy. They've been great, and the discount saved me a significant amount.

70% more for your insurance? that's shocking! 😳 I've heard that a lot of other EV owners are also having their rates go up. Sometimes it feels like insurance companies are only responding to the market and the fact that repair costs are going up. I really hope you can find a better deal soon. Everyone should pay a fair price for their insurance!

I would keep looking for quotes if I were you. Different insurance companies may offer much better rates from time to time. Even though it might be hard, it could be worth it! Also, some businesses offer discounts just for EV owners, so it's worth asking about those.

I know how frustrating it can be when insurance rates jump out of nowhere. factors can influence these like rising repair costs, more expensive parts, and battery replacements. EVs tend to come with higher repair bills since it is all new tech and such. that trickles down into the insurance rates.

it’s always a good idea to shop around and compare quotes from different companies. you’ll find that certain insurers offer much better rates, even for the same coverage. You might also want to check if your current insurer has any discounts or options for reducing your premiums. it’s worth asking! 🤷‍♂️

There are probably a few reasons , like the rising costs of EV parts and labor, especially for things like battery repairs, which can be pretty expensive. Insurance companies also tend to adjust their rates based on risk, and since EVs have some high-tech components, premiums can be higher compared to traditional vehicles.

It’s definitely worth shopping around, because different insurers have their own ways of calculating risk and pricing. find a company that offers a much better rate. ask about any discounts—things like safe driving, low mileage, or having advanced safety features might help you save some money.

pretty wild hike! 😬 Insurance rates can be so unpredictable, and EVs seem to get hit harder sometimes, especially with how repair costs and technology factor into premiums. shop around. you’d be surprised how much you can save by just switching providers. a small change can make a big difference.

I’d also ask about any discounts you might be eligible for. Things like safe driving records, bundling policies, or even EV-specific incentives help bring those costs down. Kinda hoping that there's other options.
